Student Leadership

Empowering Student Voices

At the heart of Chances are our students themselves. At Chances we believe that everything we do should be centred around young people. We want students to have fun, and come to understand the intrinsic rewards of engaging with their learning. To help us develop and shape the school to be the best it can be, we actively seek to hear their voice and provide them with appropriate opportunities to have input into our decision-making.

The Student Council

Chances have a school council. Students represent their peers, having been elected following a democratic application and voting process. Student councillors are identified around the school by their school council badges, and the school council board is updated regularly to share new information and decisions.

The Student Council meet regularly and sets their own focuses (for example, the environment or learning in the school). The council work closely with the PHSE lead to represent the voice of the other students in the school.
